Frequently Asked Questions

How often do you need to train?

I train four times a week, However, twice a week is the minimum and three times a week is ideal for those who have more time. It takes a minimum of 3 months to start seeing results.

Are you an experienced, qualified trainer?

Yes. I gained my  Level 3 Personal Trainer certificate at YMCA Fit and then completed further specialised qualifications to become an Advanced Trainer and Sports Therapist.

I have a BTEC Diploma Level 5 (most trainers have Level 3) and I am also certificated to carry out First Aid for Sport’s Trauma. I have been working as a Personal Trainer for 10 years but my passion for exercise started in my teens as a top flight badminton player.

Prior to that I had a career in Psychology so I have good communication skills and am therefore able to understand, support, encourage and motivate you. So if you really want to make a change, I can help.

What is your cancelation policy?

For any sessions cancelled by you, made with less than 24 hours’ notice, Body Pod Brighton reserves the right to invoice you for the session or not to refund if you have pre-paid.

You may change the time or date for a session if you give your trainer or coach no less than 24 hours’ notice.

If the trainer or coach cancels the session, it will be rescheduled at an agreed time.

What do you specialise in?

I specialise in 3 areas: Rehabilitation; Strength & Conditioning; Working with the over 50’s.

I have a particular interest in injury rehabilitation and pre-habilitation (preventing injury and training safely). I have in depth knowledge in strength training and body shaping and look to improve people’s fitness overall.

With body shaping, I am interested in teaching you how to connect to your body and develop it to be more balanced overall.

Most recently, I have been working with the over 50’s, 60’s and even 70’s on improving their quality of life through growing their strength, stability and balance.

Where does the training / treatment take place?

I normally work out of Slim-Gyms, which is personal training studio in central Brighton, based in Foundry Street.

IMPORTANT UPDATE: During the stay-at-home policy implemented because of Corona Virus, I am currently running online Zoom workout sessions so you can still maintain your fitness and workout from the comfort and safety of  your own home.

For Injury Rehab Assessments and Soft Tissue Treatments, I normally work from Alive’s therapy space which is also based in central Brighton on Castle Street.

IMPORTANT UPDATE: Due to the close-contact nature of assessments and treatments, I have suspended them until the Corona Virus self isolation measures have been removed.
